Seminar on Business Opportunities in the Kurdish Region of Iraq
Kurdistan: The Other Iraq
The Kurdish region of Iraq is experiencing a sustained period of economic development
It is a region that is relatively free from the violence that has been seen elsewhere in Iraq.
Kurdistan is attracting strong attention from international investors form many countries
, and has established important trade and investment connections with neighboring coun
tries and those further afield.
What opportunities are there for Australian business in Kurdistan?
Ms Ala Jabbary, a PhD student at Canberra University specializing in Kurdish affairs,
presents the facts on, and her own personal insights into this important region's economy
and the prospects for its future development.
Ms Jabbary will explore the incentives for foreign involvement in the Kurdish economy,
as well as the obstacles. She will also examine the synergies between the Australian and
Kurdish economies and identify those sectors where Australian expertise and skills, as
well as our exports and investment, are needed.
